A little history
In 2005 we launched Europe’s first ever DNA Testing Clinic based in the UK City of Liverpool. We decided to take this step due to the increasing number of faceless, internet based companies, selling DNA tests directly to the public. Many of the DNA tests being sold were well below UK accredited standards and many samples were being sent to laboratories overseas to access these cheap, poor quality tests.
In addition, these companies were providing individuals and families with ‘life changing’ DNA test results, without the appropriate support in place.
The first DNA testing clinic turned out to be a great success. People favoured the face to face consultation and support offered by the clinic as it increased their confidence and understanding in the DNA testing procedure. In the years that followed, the unique DNA testing service expanded and it now offers a network of DNA Testing Clinics, Pharmacies, Registered Nurses and Counsellors.
Our aim
Running the DNA test services in the way that we do is certainly not the most cost efficient way for a company to provide DNA testing. Our profit margins would increase dramatically if we operated an internet based service. However, we believe in offering a service that meets the client’s needs first.

The Laboratory
Our ethical and personal approach to DNA testing is nothing without the ability to provide state of the DNA tests and the most accurate results possible.
The BioClinics work in partnership with Alpha Biolaboratories. The laboratory facilities are accredited by UKAS to ISO17025 and ISO9001, illustrating our commitment to accuracy and quality.
Alpha Biolaboratories are also accredited by the Ministry of Justice to carry out parentage tests as directed by the Civil courts in England and Wales under Section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act (1969).
In addition, all testing procedures conform to the guidelines set out by the International Society of Forensic Testing and the Code of Practice on Genetic Testing to ensure that we provide all forms of test in an accurate, confidential and ethical manner.
